Common name: Yellow-banded poison frog

Distribution: Venezuela and Colombia

Favoured terrain: Among leaf litter on the forest floor, or up to 3 feet above ground level

Dificulty: Easy

Notes: Dendrobates leucomelas is a rather good starter frog, as it is easy to keep, not shy, and easy to breed. Being a larger floor dweller, it does well in a nicely planted 20 gallon terrarium.
